MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Anterra released MFA in our previous release as an optional add-on. The industry has changed to make MFA the standard to keep your company’s information secure.  As part of this release, we have enabled MFA at no additional cost for all our clients without needing to contact Anterra’s customer support.

Any users of Anterra that already have a mobile number on file will now be prompted when they login for a one-time code.  MFA is disabled by default for users which do not have mobile number, however Anterra does offer required MFA which will use their e-mail address instead of mobile number. The mobile number for a user can be setup during account creation however we recommend that users establish their own mobile number using the instructions below.

Adding Mobile Number in Anterra

There are two ways you can set up the mobile number for your employees so they can start using MFA.

User Administration

Open User Administration

Click on the edit icon for the user you want to edit

Enter the user’s mobile number in Mobile # field, then click Save

Once the user’s Mobile # is entered you can set it to enabled or Required or Inherited. Click the Save button. You will now receive texts with codes to be able to log into AnterraBI more securely. If the user is set to disabled or does not have a valid Mobile # it will instead email the user’s email address the code to log in. This can take several minutes to be received and can be sent to your junk email folder.

User Mobile Number Self-Administration (Recommended Method)

Click your name at the top right to expand the menu then choose Manage Mobile

In the Manager Mobile screen: check the box, enter your 10 digit mobile number, and click Continue.

Enter the code you should receive in the Code from SMS box then click Continue.

Logging In with MFA

“Required” mode without mobile #

You should be prompted for a one-time code that was sent to your e-mail

Check your e-mail box (and spam folder) for an e-mail from notification@anterratech.com with the subject line Anterra Cloud BI - One-time code for login

Copy the code to your clipboard from the e-mail. Back on the login screen paste the code and click Login. You can also check the Trust this Computer box to allow you to login to that PC for 14 days.

We recommend that you use the instructions in the User Mobile Number Self-Administration section above to add a mobile number to your account.

Any account with a mobile number

Log into https://auth.anterracloudbi.com and enter your existing username and password

MFA Screen when a mobile number is provided

You will be prompted for a one-time code that was sent to your mobile number. Check the text on the mobile and enter the one time code in the field shown above (One-time code). Click the continue button after you enter the code to login. You can also check the Trust this Computer box to allow you to login to that PC for 14 days without getting another MFA message.

Disabling MFA

MFA can be disabled for any user by selected Disabled in User Admin under the MFA Mode by an administrator. If your company would like MFA disabled for ALL users, please have your Anterra main contact or a controlling officer of the company contact Anterra Support requesting MFA be disabled.
