Overview
What is the Gantt chart used for? Gantt charts help teams to plan work around deadlines and properly allocate resources. A Gantt chart is a commonly used graphical depiction of a project schedule. It's a type of bar chart showing the start and finish dates of a project's elements such as resources, planning, and dependencies. Project planners also use Gantt charts to maintain a bird's eye view of projects. They depict, among other things, the relationship between the start and end dates of tasks, milestones, and dependent tasks. Gantt charts can be used by anyone who needs to organize their time and resources, or keep track of deadlines, or show stakeholders a visual map of when key items and milestones are expected to be complete.
